I have owned this instrument since 1990 and have always enjoyed playing it. It was made by Jurgen-Deitrich Krause in Germany in 1980, and is 16.5 “. It was fairly recently re-set up with a new bridge and strings by the Sydney String Centre.
Their assessment of it was: ‘this viola has a well-rounded powerful and bright sound with great projection. It has a fast response time and a clear focused tone heard in both the upper and lower registers…..this instrument would be suitable for tertiary, advancing to professional level’
