Caron Chan

My proposed topic is New Australian Music for the Violin. For this presentation I have curated a selection of works suitable for inclusion in the HSC and VCE exams writted by a diverse group of Australian composers. Some of the works were written as recently as this year. As part of my presentation I will share perusal copies of sections of the score of each of the works. Delegates attending this session are encouraged to bring their violins to the session and read through the works. The aim of the presentation is to share some wonderful new Australian violin repertoire with string teachers, and also to provide a platform for Australian composers to have their most recent works shared to an enthusiastic audience who can ensure the dissemination and performance of these works. I would like to invite the featured composers to attend this session if they are available.
