AUSTA Q Reading Day 2025
AUSTA Q Reading Day 2025
Call for Scores from local composers for the 2025 Reading Day
When: Sunday 9 February 2025
The purpose of the Reading Day is to present works for school string orchestras. Composers should bear this in mind.
Due to the overwhelming response of composers wishing to present works at the Reading Day, all composers who wish to have works considered for inclusion in the 2025 Reading Day will need to follow the following procedures:
ALL COMPOSERS (established or new) should email Daniel Holloway
Please copy the table below by copying the table, pasting it into your email and filling in the details using the example formatting.

NEW COMPOSERS (who have not had a piece selected for an AUSTA Q Reading Day in recent years) should also email a PDF of the score to: qld@austa.asn.au by Thursday 2nd January 2025. A panel will consider its suitability for inclusion in the Reading Day.
ON THE DAY If selected for inclusion in the Reading Day, it is expected that composers will arrive early on the day to help with setting up and stay to help with packing down. They will also need to provide the following copies of their music. (Please do not put these into folders as this will add bulk and weight when sending the folders to other states for their respective reading days).
2 x score
8 x violin 1
8 x violin 2
5 x viola
5 x cello
5 x bass
1 x piano
There will be a limit of 15 minutes per composer. Composers should be prepared to conduct their work or nominate another person to do so.
